  do you remember the jw.org book of revelation and how many times we had to study it?

  in retrospect, all those hours turned out to be for nothing, the explanation of the prophecies is now completely outdated..

  Also people at the door are so receptive and glad to see us. (???) Letter writing will be done from the hall if needed.

  This means elders will be judging ability, fitness, mental health. There was no mention of the 2nd grade level slogging meetings, poor infrastructure ( seats in particular), travel costs and time.

  At least the convention is in town if we can go. Some of us need the family facilities which are inevitably being monopolized by elders kids.

  these apostates like saint athanasius, theologian, ecclesiastical statesman, and egyptian national leader decided which books would be part of the bible.

  Didn't you hear? Jehovah caused the bible to be canonized.

  Actually there was a big , mostly american, adventist movement that used protestant ( king james) scripture.

  Court Cases Costs?

  watch tower is in court all the time.

  it wins some.

  it loses others.. we know it costs £££££ to go to court, pay barristers, expert witnesses, etc.. with wtc going to court for so many diverse reasons these days, from challenging laws to defending wt practices and paying out to csa victims, how much do you think wtc is spending annually on court cases?.

  JWs Still Attending on Zoom

  another topic based on a conversation with a friend living near warwick (i talked to him over the weekend).

  he said that cong's in and around bethel, including his, are slowly starting to see an uptick with people attending in person his cong is pretty much 75%+ in person.

  however there are many that still use zoom as a fall back.

  Saves an hour of getting dressed. No uncomfortable chairs. I do housework to stay awake. Wife is legitimately sick.

  Elders DO judge on outward appearance of illness and their opinions about imagined ills.

  The downside is no more snow days.

  They are told to immediately call the branch! Elder just told me this, he had waited until Monday instead of Sunday evening. No mention of police.

  Sorry to hear. Go onwith life as much as possible.

  I've always wanted to ask where the 1 year scripture is. The Corinthian example seemed to be less. Same for the long held " no applause" on announcement. The angels rejoicing be wrong.

  I have an uncle who was DF, one of the committee members soon after married his wife.

  A former sister in law was not even reproved for an affair, was told to break it off. She just got sneakier. To top it off an elder I know braggedabout what good friends he is with the fornicating new husband.

  Advice to reduce hours earn less and spend more time on the ministry

  the advice to reduce work and earn less to spend more time preaching has not aged well.. the cost of living crisis means many have more going out on necessities than they have coming in.. so many asked their employer to reduce their hours and refused promotion only to see their colleagues go up the ladder when they stayed lowly position with rubbish jobs thinking the end will be here soon.

  next week midweek meeting is all about preparing for an economic crisis.. they say have a go bag and new advice for all jws to store food and water at home and grow a vegetable garden, i kid you not.

  All the Old JW Acquaintances Passing Away

  yesterday, my dad told me an older sister passed away.

  she wasn't too old (in her 60s), but i knew her 30 years ago and haven't seen her in 15 years; the main reason being that i faded 10 years ago.. yesterday, i seriously considered attending the funeral and catch-up with old jws i used to know.

  after thinking it over, i decided against it.

  Last memorial i went to actually had applause at the end. TACKY
